Rapha - Anointing Oil
In Hebrew, rapha means “to heal.” So Jehovah Rapha means “the Lord who heals.” This name for God appears for the first time in the Bible in Exodus 15:26.
Anointing oil is mentioned more than twenty times throughout Scripture.
In the Old Testament, anointing oil was poured out over the heads of the high priest and his descendants. It was also sprinkled throughout the tabernacle and its furnishings to mark them as holy and set apart for the Lord.
In the New Testament, anointing oil is used in the healing of the sick and as a beautiful act of worship to our Lord and Savior, King Jesus. Anointing oils can be used as a symbolic representation of our faith, as we pray over people or our homes.
