African Ash Soap

Made from wildly forged and ethically sourced botanicals—including plantain skins, cocoa pods, shea tree bark, and palm tree leaves—this traditional soap is as natural as it gets. Crafted by skilled artisans in Ghana, African Ash Soap reflects centuries of cultural wisdom and care. Traditionally Used for Deep Cleansing
African Ash Soap has long been valued in West African communities for its ability to cleanse and refresh the skin. A laboratory study published in the Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology Research examined traditional African black soap formulations and noted their effectiveness in helping remove common surface debris and impurities.
In that study, researchers observed a reduction in the laboratory presence of:
• Staphylococcus aureus & Staphylococcus epidermidis
• Bacillus spp. & Escherichia coli
• Corynebacterium spp.

A Note About Natural Oxidation
Our African Black Soap is completely natural and handcrafted, free from synthetic stabilizers or preservatives. Because of this, it may naturally oxidize over time when exposed to air, forming a light white or grayish film on the surface.
This film is a normal result of oxidation and is not mold. It does not affect the purity, quality, or performance of your soap. In fact, it’s a natural sign that the soap was made from authentic, raw ingredients such as cocoa pod ash, plantain skin ash, and nourishing oils.
To preserve your bar, store it in a cool, dry place and allow it to fully dry between uses.
